The Doctor spent some of his formative years aboard a Dutch naval ship. This
merchant vessel would smuggle rare nuts from the Asian continent. The Doctor
acquired a taste for the nuts & would eat bags from the hold whilst sipping the
Captains private stash of Holland Gin. The Captain turned a blind eye to the
young Daedalus’s misappropriations as he was so useful in distracting the British
customs officials with his fantastical tales of wonder & adventure.
