After my recent ordeal at sea, I have decided a little recuperation on land is required and
asked the crew to set course for Fiji.
We arrive on the island in a period of extreme weather - there has been no rain for
some time in combination with a cold snap which has caused a rapid decline in the local bee
          population.
The residents are distraught as they are fearful that their crops of bananas and
almonds will fail without rain or the local insects to pollinate them.
In a flash of inspiration I ask that my crew fetch one of the bee hives onboard our ship
as well as some macadamia seeds.
I suggest that my hardy Scottish bees are the perfect answer to a cold snap and by
introducing them to the island, will also help toughen the local population.
I explain that my friends’ experiments at Kew show that the almond is the most
thirsty of nuts while the macadamia from Australia needs comparatively negligible sums
of water to produce it’s exotic seeds.
I pinch some of my artist’s newly made banana liqueur, some aged rum and a rich syrup of
the pressed macadamias to create a truly exceptional rum cocktail that could just save
          the world.
