Study Section 19: More errors from the pen of Ellen G. White
19.1 Connect.
How would you like to find out that you had been teaching something to a lot of people who
were following you, and banked their lives on your teaching, only to find out you were
wrong? William Miller told everyone that Christ was coming back on Oct. 22, 1844. People
sold their farms and gave away their money. And Christ did not come back. Can you imagine
how William Miller felt on October 23 ? And he had only a few thousand followers. Ellen G.

White has led MILLIONS astray following her false doctrines in the Adventist church. Today
we will see more false teachings that she promoted to her followers.
19.2 Objectives.
1. The student should be able to understand that Ellen G. White was a false prophet whose
teachings run contrary to God’s Word.
2. The student should be able to make a final judgment on the position that the SDS takes when
it comes to their source of doctrine and their errant beliefs.
3. The student should be able to state what the Bible says about each errant belief.
19.3 Errors from the pen of Ellen G. White
1. Her visions taught a shut door of salvation. She taught from
her visions that a door of probation was closed in 1844 against all non-
Adventists. The SDA Church and Ellen White later backed away from this
position and tried to hide the earlier visions showing a shut door of
salvation.
2. Her health visions contain falsehoods and extremes, and thus they cannot be from God. Her
health teachings contradict known scientific facts and contain knowledge primarily obtained
from other health reformers. (It’s Okay NOT to be a Seventh Day Adventist (BookSurge
Publishing, 2008)
For example, White wrote “We have been instructed that in our treatment of the sick we should
discard the use of drugs.” (PC2, June, 1908; 8MS 73, 1908)
“Flesh (meat) food has a tendency to animalize the nature, to rob men and women of the love
and sympathy which they should feel for everyone, and give the lower passions control over the
higher powers of the being… if the stomach is not properly cared for, the formation of an
upright, moral character will be hindered. (9T 159)
“And those who worship God with unclean garments and persons do not come before Him in
acceptable manner…He will not accept the service of filthy worshipers, for they insult their
Maker (SR, 138)
