“Fashion loads the heads of women with artificial braids and pads…The heat caused by these
artificials induces the blood to the brain. The action of the blood upon the lower or animal
organs of the brain, causes unnatural activity, tends to recklessness in morals, and the mind and
heart is in danger of being corrupted.” (Health Reformer, Oct. 1, 1871, p.9)

                   3. Her writings contradict the Bible at times and are inconsistent with Biblical historical facts. In
addition, she frequently adds to the Bible.
For example, White in a number of her writings stated that Adam was deceived by Satan
(Evangelism, p. 598, Review and Herald, April 5, 1898, Spirit of Prophecy, p. 352). The Bible, in I
Tim 2:14 states that Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and
                       become a sinner.

She wrote that no one can know they are saved (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 155). The Bible says
                       in I John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;
that you may know that you have eternal life.”

She wrote, “wicked children God does not love” (Appeal to Youth, p. 61). Scripture says that
God loves every man, enough to die for them (John 3:16).

She wrote, “It is a sin to be sick, for all sickness is the result of transgression.” (Health
Reformer, Aug. 1, 1866). We know from 2 Cor. 12:7-10 that Paul was sick not because of sin,
but because the Lord wanted him to rely on God’s strength!

When asked if the man Jesus Christ was also truly God she wrote, “ "The man Christ Jesus
was not the Lord God Almighty" (Letter 32, 1899, quoted in the Seventh-day Adventist Bible
                         Commentary, vol. 5, p. 1129).

When asked, was the atonement for sin completed at the cross? She answered, "Jesus entered
the most holy of the heavenly (sanctuary), at the end of the 2300 days of Daniel 8, in 1844, to
make a final atonement for all who could be benefited by His mediation" (Early Writings, p.
                       253).

But the Bible says, “Rom 3:21-25 (NIV) But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has
been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God
comes through faith in Jesus and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by his
grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of
atonement, through faith in his blood.

Ellen G White was asked if the blood of Christ cancels our sin. Her reply, “"The blood of Christ,
while it was to release the repentant sinner from the condemnation of the law, was not to
cancel sin ... it will stand in the sanctuary until the final atonement" (Patriarchs and Prophets, p.
                       357).

But the Bible says: "In him we have ("have" is present tense) redemption through his blood, the
                       forgiveness of sins" (Ephesians 1:7).
