P. 131
"In these letters which I write, in the testimonies I bear, I am presenting to you that which the Lord has
presented to me. I do not write one article in the paper expressing merely my own ideas. They are what
God has opened before me in vision--the precious rays of light shining from the throne." Testimonies 5,
p. 67.
"If you lessen the confidence of God’s people in the testimonies He has sent them, you are rebelling
against God as were Korah, Dathan, and Abriam." Testimonies 5, p. 66.
"The Testimonies are of the Spirit of God, or of the devil. In arraying yourself against the servants of God
you are doing a work either for God or for the devil." Testimonies 4, p. 230.
What does the Bible say?
Galatians 1: 6-9 make it really clear how to respond to a false teacher.
6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different
gospel;
7
which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you
and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
8
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel
contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!
9
As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to
you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!
* Besides relying heavily on the work of Dr. Whitcomb (1988 Syllabus notes), some of the material in this
report has also been excerpted and or adapted from: "Seventh-day Adventist Church Profile," Timothy
Oliver (Watchman Fellowship Profile, 1996).
Also, some information was taken from the work of Teresa & Authur Beem (former Adventists) entitled,
It’s Okay NOT to be a Seventh Day Adventist (BookSurge Publishing, 2008).
An excellent on-line source of information on Adventism is available from www.nonsda.org. There are
numerous articles available.
