8.4 Let’s Practice…
1. Explain how God the Father could be the head of Christ as stated in I Cor. 11:3 and I Cor.
15:28?
2. In John 14:28, Jesus said the “Father is greater than I.” JWs say the verse means that Jesus is
a lesser god. How can you explain this verse to a JW?
3. If Jesus is God, then why in Mark 13:32 did Jesus say the “no one knows the day or hour of His
coming?”
4. Isaiah 9:6 refers to the coming Savior as “Mighty God.” Jehovah is called “Mighty God” using the
same Hebrew word in
5. In Isaiah 9:6, the coming Savior is called “Everlasting Father.” This does not mean that Jesus was also
the Father. Rather it means
8.5 Let’s Personalize this Lesson…
Do you always have to be the boss? Do you like telling everyone else what to do? Quite often
we fall to the temptation of thinking we are really important in God’s economy. We may be
pastoring a church or even be a husband with a wife and children. It is a temptation to think we
know what is best for everyone. But we need to be more like Christ every day, don’t we. In
Philippians 2, we are reminded that Jesus humbled Himself and became OUR SERVANT. In
taking on flesh, we became obedient in all things in submission to His Father. He did not set aside his
deity, but He sometimes voluntarily yielded his Godly attributes to become totally human. Ask the Lord
to give you the same MIND as Christ.
