Ask Three Questions: 1) vs. 7, who is this talking about? Answer: Jesus Christ (because he was the one
who was pierced). Who is the one who is coming? Answer: Jesus Christ! In verse 8, In this passage,
who is claiming to be the eternal one? Answer: Jehovah

Revelation 21:6
He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is
thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.

Ask: In this passage, who is claiming to be the eternal one? Answer: Jehovah is Alpha and Omega – the
eternal one!

That is true! This is verified by Isaiah 41:4 Who has performed and accomplished it, Calling forth the
generations from the beginning? ‘I, the LORD, am the first, and with the last. I am.’ And in” Isaiah 44:6
which says, “I am the first and I am the last, beside me there is no god.” Again in Isaiah 48:12 Jehovah
said, “I am he, I am the first and I am the last.” He said this right after saying (11b), “My glory I will not
give to another.” These phrases certainly describe Jehovah God. He is the eternal one!

Now let’s turn to Revelation 22: 12-20

12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he

has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
Ask: Who is speaking in this passage? Answer: Well since he calls himself Alpha and Omega, it must be
Jehovah! But, is Jehovah coming or is Jesus Christ coming? Answer: Jesus is coming. OK…keep
reading. Notice the speaker has not changed and whoever speaks in vs. 12 continues to speak through
verse 16!

14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and

may enter by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons
and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.

16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the
descendant of David, the bright morning star.”

Ask: Who is the speaker? Answer: Jesus Christ!!! Jesus is the Alpha and Omega!

17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is
thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.

18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God

will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of
the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which
are written in this book.

20 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
