Study Section 5: Creating a PowerPoint Presentation

                             5.1 Connect

Probably the most used audio-video enhancement used today, if you have a computer, is the
program invented by Microsoft called PowerPoint. It creates slides which can be viewed on a
computer or can be projected to a screen using a video projector. Video projectors used to be
somewhat pricey, but lately, with the advent of LED technology, the prices have dropped
substantially, so that with a little planning, most teachers or pastors can own one. You can
project the image on a wall or sheet stretched between two poles. Or view it on a piece of
plywood painted white. But better yet, invest in a screen and the images will be more vibrant. Today
we are going to learn how to make a PowerPoint presentation, but first, we must have a lesson which
we want to reinforce by the presentation. We will study the lesson, then create a PowerPoint to use
with it as we present it to our class. Let’s learn how….

                5.2 Objectives

                     1. The student should be able to create slides in PowerPoint that will reinforce the lesson
                     presented.

                     2. The students will walk through the 12 steps to create and present a PowerPoint video.

                1.3 Let’s Create a PowerPoint Presentation

Here is a Sunday School Lesson you must present in a couple of weeks. You are going to use
this study to create a PowerPoint Audio-Visual to support your lesson. Notice that the lesson is
laid out in THREE main points, and within those points are bullet points that reinforce the main
points. That should make it easier to create slides to reinforce the lesson.

               What’s so different about Jesus?

               Bible Passage: John 6:66-69

66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
67 "You do not want to leave too, do you?" Jesus asked the Twelve.
                                                                                                  69
68 Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We
believe and know that you are the Holy One of God."

               Background Information

 Jesus had just fed the 5,000 men, besides women and children, by the Sea of Galilee. He fed
them with only five loaves of bread and two small fishes.
