Dr. Fred N. Pegg attended Kernersvill e High School and entered
Emory University Dental School in 1920. He was graduated in 1924 and
entered practice in Kernersville in July of that year. He is assisted by his
Old friends and fellow businessmen, Mr. Jake Bodenhamer and Mr. wife, Mrs. Collie Pegg.

ture was made in the 1920's. This store was later replaced by the brick
store building built by Mr. Jake's son, Grover C. Bodenheimer.

Kernersville Knitting Company employees circa 1919 at the old plant
on Bodenhamer Street. Mr. J. W. Woollen, the Superintendent, stands in
the foreground. In 1928 the company merged into Adams-Millis Corpora-

partment Store is located. About 1924.
Kernersville Knitting Company was inc-orporated April 19, 1918. In
1928 it was merged into Adams-Millis Corporation. Today Adams-Millis is
one of the largest hosiery producing firms in the United States. In Kerners-
ville, the three million dollar Central Finishing and Shipping Plant contains
320,000 square feet and this plant, plus the old plant, has 700 employees.
