Waiting for the parade to begin. Look-
ing up North Main Street just before the
Fourth of July Parade (1938 or 1939)
starts.
"Girl Scouts 'Round the World", the prize winning Fourth of July Float in
the 1948 parade, made up of scouts from Troops 25 and 36. Names listed
on page 96
The old Forty and Eight train rides again! Always a favorite, it took
part in several Fourth of July parades. It was loaned by the Voiture Locale
982 of Winston-Salem and sponsored locally by the John T. Ring Post No.
36, American Legion. In the background Mallard Stafford and an uniden-
tified small boy enjoy the train.
