Renewable Diesel Program
At Canada’s largest port, a variety of low– and zero-emission fuels and technologies are
being tested in support of the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s goal to create a zero-
emission port by 2050.
As one of the companies participating in this initiative, we recently began a 6-month trial of
100% renewable diesel on one of our locomotives at our Pacific Terminal. The trial, which
is funded in part by the port authority and the province, is intended to test the use of low-
emission renewable diesel as a replacement for regular diesel. Shell Canada supplied the
renewable diesel to Viterra at a discounted cost.
In an announcement issued on December 6, Kyle Jeworski said, “Viterra is proud to
participate in this renewable diesel testing pilot program at our Pacific port terminal as we
Railcar Loading Accomplishments continue to identify and implement viable ways to lower emissions in our operations. As a
business with a global agriculture network, we recognize the need for collective action in
order to achieve positive outcomes towards a sustainable future.”
The Grower Forum
Viterra held its latest grower forum meeting at the end of November in Montreal,
which included a tour of our port terminal, as well as a tour of Ray-Mont Logistics.
The forum consists of a panel of ten farmers from across Western Canada who
meet twice a year to network and exchange information with leaders from across
Viterra. These meetings provide an excellent opportunity to discuss industry
trends and issues, as well as challenges and opportunities that exist in today’s
agricultural environment. Through this collaboration, our goal is to identify what
we’re doing well as a company and to hear from growers on where we need to
improve. Their feedback is essential in ensuring that we are meeting their needs
as well as those of customers throughout our asset network. Thanks to everyone

Trade Show Season Underway
Canadian Western Agribition Grain Expo
Viterra recently sponsored the Grain Expo at Agribition, which took place in Regina
the last week of November. The expo is a two-day speaker conference and trade
show aimed at grain producers. Following harvest, the timing of the conference
is ideal for producers looking for the latest information on the market trends and
agronomic practices. This year’s expo was kicked off by Premier Scott Moe and
included speakers from CN, Nutrien, and Crop Inputs Canada among many others. Premier Scott Moe talks sustainability at the tenth
annual Grain Expo.
Agri-Trade Show
Viterra also participated in the Agri-Trade Show in Red Deer on November 9-11,
which is a showcase for the latest in ag equipment, technology, services, and
products.
This is the first time we’ve been at the show for a few years, and it was great
to see that the event was well attended by farm customers and other industry
participants.
