‘horse’ onto another word.” The seahorse seemed baffled by this
phenomenon. “Consider the clotheshorse: Like you, it has four
legs—but resembles a real quadruped even less.”

“And look at the hobbyhorse,” replied the sawhorse. “No legs at all.
Just a head on a stick.”
