The Cuttlefish Man
Then for a while he had nothing to say,
And I was content to leave it that way;
But his tentacles just couldn’t keep still:
I saw they were twitching, against his will,
Churning the dark water as he kept pace
With me; and when I looked down at his face,
It seemed to me he had screwed up his eyes
Like a baby does—just before it cries.
