Uncle said, “Listen: life forty years back
Is for you quickly forgotten and blurred;
Not for me! It’s what I just saw and heard.”
Vainly we pointed out positive things
Time in its passage most certainly brings.
Uncle shrugged. “Some may be useful today;
Minor compared to all that’s gone astray.”
“Aren’t you glad for the healthcare advance,”
Queried my brother, “that gave you this chance?”
“Not at all,” Uncle quite cynically said;
“I was much happier clinically dead!”
