Introduction
Genealogy
In following AR’s narrative, it will be helpful for the reader to
refer to the following table. It is based upon the text and a genealogy
compiled by AR’s grandson Jordan in the 1960s, mostly from
information supplied by Rivka Goldstein, AR’s sister. Since so few
dates of birth or death are known, none are shown. Each of Moshe
Itzel’s sons and daughters had between four and seven children, not
included on this chart; it must be assumed that a high percentage of
AR’s forty-six first cousins and their children and grandchildren
perished in the Holocaust (in the narrative he puts the number at two
hundred).
