        Dear grandson Jonathan,

Why not a few words in Hebrew? Save some of what you learned
and paid a high price for it. You give so much time to French and
English, why not a few minutes a day to Hebrew, the language of
your people, who carried it on for three thousand years until its
rejuvenation in Israel and the Diaspora.
I feel all right now. Saw your mother a night before. She was in La
Jolla Saturday and is fine. Your cousin Jordan is in the reserve army
in San Francisco for two weeks. I was three days in hospital with that
cough of mine. Cost me 260 dollars

                                                                    Peace and blessings,
                                                                    Abraham Rothstein
