The imbalance of gender struck in the male and female heads is
redressed, as it were, in the ratio of male to female nudes.
Adam and Eve are not included here, being treated under the
heading of biblical portraits. AR left behind a single piece
identifiable as a male nude and nothing else, and it is oddly-
proportioned and crudely rendered, evidently following the
strongly-curved shape of the branch from which it was carved.
The face is unbearded and topped by an unruly mop of hair,
therefore youthful. And it is unfinished; AR must have been
engaged in idle whittling rather than serious sculpting. It
cannot stand on its own, and shows no sign of ever being
attached to a base.
