The moons of Mars
                          Bear many scars;

                          And now they’re maimed
                          By what they’re named.

                          Scherzo for Anthony Powell

                     Evolution’s dialectic
                     (No, not a fated mountain climb,

                     Nor a scrimmage hot and hectic):
                     A dance to music played in time.

    When insects of summer
    Appear in the spring,
    One wonders what bummer
    The autumn will bring.

                             Look at what
                             I’m looking at
                             If not then

                             How I’m

                             Looking at it
                             Not how I look
                             Looking at it.
