When Atlas shrugs he’ll drop the ball;
Among the victims of that fall
Are the movers and the shakers
Fancying themselves earthquakers.
Ride history’s cruel pendulum!
It just can’t wait to send you from
A front seat on a wrecking ball
To roller-coasting in free fall.
Jaded by cornucopia
But good at disassembling clocks,
We’re fooled by our myopia,
And think the basket’s closed end blocks
The entrance to utopia—
We have to know how it unlocks!—
Quite blind to the dystopia
Freed by breaching Pandora’s Box.
