Two eternal questions

The factory farm she fled
(That ovulatory goad)
Deafened her to speeding tread;
That is why she crossed the road.

How can a plot hatch
Before it thickens?
Which count first? A batch
Of eggs or chickens?
Aren’t we lucky Nature’s magician
Produces golden geese and we’ve got one?
“Indeed I am,” says the politician,
Waiting in a duck blind with a shotgun.
