Don’t accept the condition of understanding that you must be
conditioned to accept what you don’t understand.

How many kicks out of the garden make the seat of learning harden?

Even on the path of least resistance, a little padding wouldn’t be
        imprudent.

        Self-absorption is sponge abuse.

I can’t see the roost for the homecoming chickens, or the mineshaft
        for all the dead canaries.

        Tough love garners no Valentines.

“Self-consciousness” and “things change” are double negatives:

Swine flu vaccination is a pig in a poke or a poke for a pig.

It didn’t leave a bad taste in your mouth? Maybe it didn’t leave.

A life without regrets, like an exam in which it is possible to answer
every question correctly, may have overlooked something.

If you’re quarantined, all your yarns are homespun.

After talking yourself into a hole, you’ll discover your shovel isn’t a
        ladder.
