We’ll know that fish are civilized when they erect a diving board on
        the bottom of the ocean.

        Linguistic  pragmatism:  the  best  name  for  a  thing  transforms  the
        easiest into the name of the best response to that thing.

        In true proverbial fashion, a case for the opposite cannot be ignored.

        If power were in symbols not things, symbols of power would not be

        A warning is a challenge that somewhere has a taker.

        congruity delimits metaphorical specificity.

        By baser canards hoist higher petards.

        By releasing the growth valve, the tropic of cancer is a turn for the
        worse.

        Who’s seen two mirrors has seen the whole hall.

        We’re saved by doors we cannot open, exposed by those we cannot
        close.
