Here,s a handy pyramid that shows who were the top of the pops job-wise, and who did the tough tasks at the bottom end.
Pharaoh
The Big Cheese. The Top Dog. Numero Uno. The people of Egypt believed that their pharaohs – or kings – were gods, and you can’t get much higher than that. All powerful.
High Officials
Even pharaohs need help sometimes, so they appointed top officials, such as a chief minister called a "vizier" who watched over tax collection and important records. The big guy’s right-hand man.
Just call me the Head Honcho, guys!
    Farmers
Just like today farmers tended the fields and raised animals for food and work. Although they weren’t high in the social pyramid, their job was important. A tractor or two would have come in handy, mind you.
Anyone got a combine harvester for sale?
I am so totally the best at throwing pointy things.
  Soldiers
Soldiers fought wars and protected the country from invasion. They also supervised peasants and slaves during building projects. Carried pointy things, so best not messed with.
 Artisans
Skilled workers made and sold jewellery, papyrus products, pottery, tools and suchlike. So if you’re good at building things from little plastic bricks, maybe this would have been the job for you.
