When it came to weapons, the Aztecs didn,t have cannons or guns, so they had to
rely on different things to make their enemies go:
Does anyone have an umbrella?
OUCH! That really hurt!,,
One of the deadliest was the atlatl, which had two parts – a long, sharp dart and a thrower to launch it as far as 150 meters. Definitely something worth hiding behind a tree from.
There was also the trusty bow and arrow, of course, and the sling, for firing rocks at opposing troops. Might not sound all that bad, but if you have SeVeRaL tHoUsAnD rocks raining down on your head at once, you might change your mind.
  Do you ever wish . . .
Sometimes change is good. Especially if it involves changing your pants after wearing them for three days (ewww, by the way). But not all change is to be wished for.
For the Aztecs, the biggest change to their way of life came when a small Spanish army landed in what is now Mexico.
In 1519, a Spaniard called Hernando Cortes arrived in Mexico with 500
men. When his ships were spotted
they were described as “large houses or mountains on the sea” as no one had seen anything like them before. The local people had also never seen
a horse before, and it’s suggested that they thought the men riding them were half-human, half-creature!
for a big change in your life? What IS it?
It´s HIDEOUS!
