doctor handed the baby to my husband, and then he quickly
‘turned over’ the baby to her.
Our friendship began when we immigrated to Canada in
1994. Pastor Marvin Jackson was our first Pastor here. They
have been outstanding and helpful to my family, like parents
to us. That’s why when I gave birth to Angela, we asked
            them to be her Godparents.
Pastor Jackson was a US war veteran, became a Pastor, and
was called to lead a church in Canada. After a year, he and
his wife moved back to the USA. He became a Pastor in
another church and eventually led the ABA Disaster Relief
Ministries in Florida. In the year 2015, Pastor Jackson
            suffered and died of cancer.

In the year 2018, after more than two decades of not seeing
Elaine, we decided to visit her. It was after my cancer
treatments. The visit was a happy and memorable reunion.
We encourage her to stay strong so she can attend the
wedding of Angela in the future.

At the beginning of 2019, she had a hip replacement and had
to stay in a nursing home to recuperate. However, she had a
heart attack and then later on was found to have cancer. She
was always in good spirits every time I sent her messages.
She knows that she is not alone in her battle. As God
promised, He will never ever leave her nor forsake her.
Looking forward to that joyous occasion when she meets her
Savior face to face and sees the love of her life again, her
husband, Elaine, sings her favorite song at church for the last
time. The Hymn was titled “In the Garden,” and the lyrics
of the chorus go like this:
