DAY 19: JESUS - THE ONLY WAY

“Jesus said to him “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6

“Goodbye to my Mama… the arms that held me for so many
years, the beautiful voices no longer I hear, she’s in Jesus’
arms, and He’s talking to her…Thank you, Mama…” This
was the song from the movie Prairie Home Companion. It
echoed in my ears as I looked at the clouds outside the
airplane returning to Canada. I attended the burial of my
Mother in the Philippines.
I was happy for her. At age 77, Auring, as her friends call
her, has gone to be with the Lord.
Looking back, when I took care of her in the hospital, she
was so desperate to end her life. She was asking for mercy
killing. I wouldn't say I liked her look when she entered the
dialysis room. She wanted to scream and say she had
enough. But no voice would come out because of the tubes
of the mechanical ventilator in her mouth. I told her God
knows her sufferings, and He loves her and cares for her.
Yes, I was guilty. I prayed to God to just take her life instead
of seeing her suffer.

October 1, 2006, is when she entered that dark door of death
that signaled the last chapter of her life on earth. Into the
loving arms of her Creator, she was ushered to the first
chapter of her life in eternity. Now she understands that all
