probably insisted his new wife wear it so as not to “waste” it.
She probably didn’t even know it had been my mom’s.
Once again, a bucket full of shame and sadness came
pouring over me. I did not respond. I just stared at my new
stepmother dressed like my mother and fell eerily silent. There
were no words.
Just more feelings to bury.
