RADICAL LOVE

However, even though we are children of God, we must be careful not

to fall into the trap of being the very instruments the devil uses to accuse
people, judge, and condemn. This does not accurately represent Jesus

to others. We need to heed the words of Romans 13:8 (TPT):

“Don’t owe anything to anyone, except your outstanding debt to

continually love one another, for the one who learns to love has fulfilled

          every requirement of the law.”

Verse 10 sums this up very succinctly:

“Love makes it impossible to harm another, so love fulfils all that the
          law requires.”

We all have our foibles and weaknesses—and yet, how patient and

gracious has Jesus been towards us? Yes, other people can irritate and
rub us the wrong way, but as we choose to love and follow the way of

our Master, we are, in fact, learning to love. Placing us with such people
is often God’s way of teaching us. Furthermore, we can also irritate

others. Therefore, as the Bible says:

“Let us not become vainglorious and self-conceited, competitive and
challenging and provoking and irritating to one another, envying and

being jealous of one another.” (Galatians 5:26, AMP)

Going back to the text, these words of affirmation from Jesus are also

directed at us, and they hold the power to transform our innermost
being and smooth away all our rough edges. So let us really listen, and

take deep into our hearts the truth that—as far as Jesus is concerned—

                                           149
