SESSION 9 : Song of Songs Chapter 4:1-6
These are sobering words that should cause us to honestly examine our
hearts before God, for only He has the power to change us.
Moving on—teeth represent chewing and feeding on the provisions
provided by God. The Bridegroom-King is delighted with how the
maiden has fed on His words. This has replaced fleshly zeal with the
restful assurance of the authority and power she now carries as she
continues to follow Him. Nothing is missing—she is now complete and
well on her way to becoming a mature Bride.
The words found in the Passion Translation in verse 2 describe
perfectly what has happened to the Shulamite as the Bridegroom-King
continues to pour out His lavish praise of her:
“When I look at you, I see how you have taken my fruit and tasted my
word. Your life has become clean and pure, like a lamb washed and
newly shorn.” (Song of Songs 4:2, TPT)
YOU NOW SHOW GRACE AND BALANCE WITH TRUTH ON
DISPLAY!
She is becoming more and more like Jesus.
As we allow the power of the cross to work its sanctifying power in our
lives, we become what we already are: clean and pure! This is how
Jesus sees us. Oh, Hallelujah! What a Saviour!
He goes on in verse 3 to talk firstly about her mouth and lips:
