SESSION 9 : Song of Songs Chapter 4:1-6
When the Father looks upon us, He sees us through the eyes of the
sacrificial love of His Son. We are His beloved children, in whom He
is well pleased, all because of what Jesus did for us on Calvary. The
Shulamite knows her weaknesses, but she also knows that the King has
invited her to go with Him. That invitation is also extended to us, and
when we say yes, like her, we will be seen as His glorious Bride at the
          dawning of the Messianic age.
Despite fears and misgivings, His constant nurturing, grace, and love
have wrought within her the courage to step out into the unknown as
an act of faithfulness and sacrificial love unto Him. Her final words to
Him in verse 6 are: “Yes, I will be your bride.”
The question for us all now is: “What is our response to His invitation?”
Will we say an unconditional yes, or are we still not ready and fully
prepared to go forth with our heavenly Bridegroom?
If we say yes, then we know that it will be worth it, but that it will cost
us our lives. If our answer is still no, we must not come under
condemnation but make the decision to seek His face until He fills us
with the grace and enabling to say, “Yes!”
