SESSION 11 : Song of Songs Chapter 4:12-16 & 5:1 (AMP)

The last part of this verse is very interesting, and out of the 32 Bible

versions I read, only the Amplified Bible by Zondervan Publishers
includes these words for Chapter 5:1-2 (interpretive expansion):

“With His confident words still thrilling her heart, through the lattice
she saw her shepherd turn away and disappear into the night.”

There then appears a cross-reference to John 16:33 (AMP):

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have (perfect)
peace and confidence. In the world, you have tribulation and trials and

distress and frustration, but be of good cheer (take courage; be
confident; certain; undaunted)! For I have overcome the world (I have

deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you).”

The above words were spoken before Jesus went to the Cross and paid
the bride-price for His bride to become irrevocably His.

Returning to Chapter 5:1 of the Song of Songs, I believe He is saying
          to her:

“Look, I am going to the Cross now—I am going to have to leave you
for a time, but another Helper will come, so there is no need to fear.

Remain in peace and confidence. Drink and be fortified by My love.”

We are witnessing how the darkness of events unfolding on the earthly
stage has escalated at an alarming pace. Fear and anxiety abound in the

people, but as we heed Jesus’ words to drink deeply of His love, we
