SESSION 3 : Song of Songs Chapter 1:3-8 (NKJV)

event, our works are to be fully directed by the Holy Spirit and from a

          place of ease.

When we move from spiritually led works to dead works of the flesh,

signified by working in the sun, it certainly leaves its mark on us. We
become irritable, tired—even to the point of suffering total burnout on

occasion. This is not God’s intention for us. It never was. His yoke is

          light.

Moving on, notice how the term “step-brothers” is used in this

particular translation. This is because these relatives share the same
father but different mothers. In Galatians 4:21-31 (well worth reading),

we are told how Abraham had two sons: one by the slave woman

would have a son—naively taking it upon herself to help God out!

The Jewish people are still paying the price for this mistake. The son

that was born to Sarah, however, was the result of the promise of God
          being faithfully fulfilled.

Dead works, striving, legalism, and dead religion all belong to Hagar,
the slave woman—and many of us in the Body of Christ are still living

like slaves. Instead of working excessively, we need to retreat to a
secret place with God and allow Him to minister His love, bringing

healing to our wounded hearts, so that we may be prepared for the
