RADICAL LOVE

works of the Kingdom. We need to yield to Him and permit Him to

develop the fruit of the Spirit within us.

All this takes time. There are no shortcuts. And the Lord is asking us to

give Him this time in order to make us into Christ-like witnesses for
          His glory.

In the Gospel of John 15:16–17 (NIV), it says: “You did not choose me,

but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—
fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father

          will give you.”

As I wrote out this verse, I noticed something for the first time, which

confirms the need for developing the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Firstly,
we were chosen and appointed to bear fruit that will last. These words

came from the mouth of Jesus. He didn’t say we were chosen and

appointed to do miracles or good works. Our primary reason for being
called was to bear fruit—so that we become like Jesus.

And when we allow the Holy Spirit to do this work in us, we are then
in the correct position, spiritually, for God to give us what we ask for

in Jesus’ name. You see, Beloved, if we do not have the fruit of the

Holy Spirit, we are not able to properly host the anointing of God—and
instead, we will end up being hurt and hurting others.

“But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in
all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues,

patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that
