RADICAL LOVE
stretching of a shoe is not instantaneous. It takes time to make the shoe
ready for use. We have to be prepared and moulded to be qualified to
wear the shoes of the Gospel of peace, and the shoes of Sonship.
So, we need to surrender to this season of seemingly “not much in
particular.” When we do, the Lord will make us into beautiful flowers
that exude His exquisite fragrance for the praise of His glory, and we
will be fully ready to step into our God-given destinies.
Interestingly, it states that the Shulamite is a rose of Sharon, and Sharon
means "peace." She has peace in this season!
I am reminded how Moses walked forty years through such a season.
Theologian F.B. Meyer wrote in his book The Servant of God:
“He (Moses) had to spend many a long year of lonely waiting and trial
before this strong and radiant nature could be broken down, shaped
into a vessel meet for the Master’s use and prepared for every good
work.”
Then, finally, he was ready to be propelled into his destiny and calling.
In Exodus 3:1, we read how he was tending his father-in-law’s flock
and came to Horeb, which literally means “the back of beyond.” It was
here that God chose to manifest Himself—in the middle of a dried-out,
run-of-the-mill desert bush!
God could have chosen something of beauty or excellence of its own
to commend it, but He didn’t. Similarly, God chooses ordinary people
