to display His glory. Why? So that the glory is attributable to Him
alone.
As I said earlier, the time needed to prepare such a vessel can span
many years. We have only to look at the lives of Abraham, Joseph,
Joshua, Caleb, and David to see that God is in no hurry. Sadly, the
society we live in today seems to want quick fixes and quick results for
everything. But the Bible tells us that:
“An inheritance gained quickly will not be blessed in the end”
(Proverbs 20:21, BSB).
Our inheritance is Christ Himself, and He is worth being refined and
developed for. We must hold fast and learn to cheerfully surrender to
such times, knowing that in God’s timing, we too will be prepared to
represent Jesus to the world better.
The key to faithfully walking this path is to abide closely in the Lord
and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal how we delight the heart of Jesus.
If we truly love Him, we will follow Him.
John 14:15 (TPT) says, “Loving me empowers you to obey my
commands.”
Going on to verse 21 (TPT), it continues:
“Those who truly love me are those who obey my commands. Whoever
passionately loves me will be passionately loved by my Father. And I
