CHAPTER 6
T
oday was my first day at school. I was finally going to Grade
8, and I was a senior. I was really nervous at first, but as I
entered and saw the same classes, teachers, and kids, I knew
I wouldn’t suffer. The class would start in ten minutes, so I tried waiting
for my best friends, but… I didn’t see them.
Until I saw three girls walking to the entrance, laughing and
wearing matching outfits. I was really shocked to see my friends—
sorry, “best friends”—talking to the same girl from yesterday.
I went up to them and said, “Hey!” Not in a rude way, though.
Elisha turned to me and said, “Oh, hey, Charlie! Meet Aria.”
“Our other friend,” Madelyn added.
“Hi!” Aria smiled.
“Friend?” I asked.
“Yes, any problem with that?” Elisha asked, confused.
“No! I mean, I didn’t know you guys had another friend, and you
never told me,” I said.
“Oh, well, sorry about that. We never had the time,” Elisha uttered,
chuckling in Aria’s ear.
“You could have called or texted me?” I said, crossing my arms.
“Does it really matter? You’ve already met her, so…” Madelyn
said, annoyed.
