IT WAS NEVER JUST SUMMER
“Aliss,” I sighed and turned to Caelum. He put his hands on his
waist and looked worried about something.
“You’ve been ignoring me since summer break. What’s going on?
Are you angry at me? Did I do something wrong?”
“Did you do something? Hmm, let me think… yes, yes, you did!”
I frowned.
“And want to know why I’ve been ignoring you?—wait, you
should know, because you said it right in front of my face!”
Then he changed his expression from sad and confused to serious.
“Is this about what I said to you last time we talked? Because if it is,
I—I was just being honest, Aliss. Is it by force to like someone I don’t
want to like?” He was still being rude.
“No, I don’t care if you don’t like me—you’re not even someone
I would date anymore! It’s just… how you said it. It made me feel
humiliated. I already know you’re a rude person, but sometimes it can
hurt people. And because it’s you saying it, you won’t feel it, so… you
wouldn’t care.”
Although I did care a little bit about his feelings for me, I looked
down, still upset, and pushed him out of the way with tears in my eyes.
It still pains me that he doesn’t care about my feelings. And the fact
that I liked him…
