He snickered and said something that made my smile disappear.
“No, Aliss, it’s not like I like you. I took you home because I was
doing a favor—to say sorry for you hitting my chest.”
“Oh,” I swallowed hard, looking down.
“I didn’t expect you to think we’re all of a sudden falling in love
because of last night…”
I went quiet all of a sudden. I was starting to crush on him, to have
feelings for him—but clearly, he didn’t feel the same. It broke my heart
that he kinda… rejected me.
