THE LIFE OF A TEENAGE GIRL
But as I was walking to school, I felt someone walking behind me.
It was happening again—just like it did at the start last time. I
immediately turned, and this time I saw Caelum.
Wait, so he was the one who disappeared when I first felt like
someone was following me? Even though I was still angry about what
he said last time, I didn’t even say hi or look at him. I just turned my
head before he could do anything and continued walking to school. He
looked confused when I left, but that didn’t make me feel sorry for him
or anything, because he made me upset and ashamed that night during
summer break.
“Okay, class, settle down! Welcome back to school. Some of you
may not be happy, and some of you may be, but all I know is that you’re
gonna have a fun time today since it’s a new term!” Mrs. Johnson
exclaimed.
“So, who’s excited?!”
The class stood up and started shouting happily—and geez, some
people’s squealing voices were crazy!
When school finished, I was pretty sad about it, but also happy,
though. At least today, I wasn’t done having fun; I was going to a
carnival tonight.
My mom works at some carnivals around Canada, and since she
has a pass and has been employed for this year, we can go today, or any
day. Anyway, as I was happily hopping home, I bumped into someone
I already knew from their shadow.
