CHAPTER 8
O
n that same day in school, we were handed our Math test. I
guess the teacher, Mrs. Stanley, wanted us to see how bad
our grades were so early, mostly because everyone looked
at their test in shock and disbelief. But when I looked at mine, I wasn’t
shocked. Instead, I wanted to cry.
“An F?!” I got an F on my test last semester, too! Okay, I knew
eventually I wouldn’t pass anyway, but an F is too far! I knew that when
I took this home, my parents were going to explode. They might even
sign me up for that stupid school learning program.
Mrs. Stanley came up to me and frowned. “This is going on your
report card, Shauna.”
No! I can’t believe this is happening. First, I get banned from doing
comedy, and now I get an F on my Math test? What could literally get
worse?
Later that afternoon, I was in the cafeteria eating my lunch when
my friends came.
“Mmm, pasta and meatballs. That will taste good,” Dietra said,
staring at my food as she sat down.
Honestly, I wasn’t really happy to talk to them.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Martin tried to make me look at him.
A minute passed, and I still didn’t speak.
“C’mon, you can’t ignore us forever!” Dietra said.
