“I mean, you can tell jokes to your friends and everything, but I
don’t want to see you learning about comedy on YouTube or other

websites. I didn’t pay for devices so you could listen to random people

talk about comedy. That’s just stupid.”
I pushed the porridge aside and lay my head down on the table in

sorrow. It was officially the worst day for me.
               “Do you understand that?”

And when Dad says something like that, there’s no other answer I
          can give except, “Yes, Dad.”

               “Good. Now get to school.”

I quickly put my leftover porridge in the sink, grabbed my
backpack, and went out, slamming the door.

Okay, I know that was a little disrespectful—but my parents had
just disrespected me right in front of my face by calling my comedy life

stupid. Clearly, they were saying my whole life was full of stupidity.
