RADICAL LOVE
of Cana in Galilee—a picture of what God is making available for end-
time saints to partake of.
This is the “New Wine” poured out of new wineskins—the laid-down
lovers of God. This is the wine of the covenant: the precious,
efficacious blood of Jesus. It is the finest wine because, through His
shed blood alone, we receive authentic, abundant, satisfying life. This
“wine” still flows and is available to all who will partake. Wine is
produced through the process of pressing, squeezing, and crushing. Her
walk of steadfast faith—despite opposition and difficulties—means
that she is now very much identified with Jesus and only pours forth
what comes from Him. She was prepared to partake in the fellowship
of His sufferings and has now become a vessel of His resurrection life
(see Philippians 3:10).
In response to the Bridegroom-King’s praise of her, the Shulamite
gives Him all the glory, because she knows it is His unfailing grace and
love that have brought her to this level of maturity.
In verse 10—the final verse for this session—we read how she now
knows without doubt to whom she belongs. I love the New
International Version (NIV) translation:
“I belong to my Beloved, and His desire is for me.”
Oh, that more of us in the Body of Christ had a true heart revelation
regarding whose we are and just how desirous God is for us! We are
God’s purchase, obtained through the shedding of His Son’s blood, and
