CHALLENGES FACED
Communication Barriers:
The communication between the national association and its chapters was challenging. They did not
receive timely information regarding their legal responsibilities or updates from the national
association.
Resource Constraints:
Many chapters operated with limited resources, making it difficult to handle legal and regulatory
requirements effectively. This led to oversight in critical areas such as compliance, risk management,
and member services.
Education and Guidance:
There was a need for improved education and resources regarding legal responsibilities, tax
compliance, and best practices for operation. Chapters lacked access to information that would
facilitate their understanding of these issues.
Strategic Planning:
The Chapters often faced difficulties in strategic planning due to a lack of clear direction or alignment
with the national association's goals. The struggle to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources
effectively without a cohesive strategy.
Volunteer Management:
Ensuring dedicated volunteers' recruitment, training, and retention is a persistent challenge. Volunteers
were essential for the successful operation of chapters, but without proper support and recognition, it
was hard to keep them motivated and committed.
Technology Utilization:
The chapters did not leverage technology to streamline operations and enhance member
engagement.
By addressing these challenges through targeted strategies and support from the national association,
chapters could better navigate their responsibilities, enhance member engagement, and achieve their
objectives effectively.
