Goodwill Industries of Chesapeake, Inc. (Mock Pharmacy)
CVS Health Workforce Initiatives and Goodwill Industries of Chesapeake, Inc. opened
a mock pharmacy on the Goodwill Industries campus in 2018. The mock pharmacy is
a component of Baltimore City Community College and Goodwill’s workforce training initiative for certified pharmacy technicians, retail sales associates and management, allowing for hands-on application of classroom learning. Pharmacy technicians participate in a 12-week pre-apprenticeship program followed by a four-week externship at a CVS pharmacy or Target pharmacy location. Students who successfully complete the training are eligible to apply for a job at a CVS or Target pharmacy.

Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania – Lawrenceville, PA
Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania teamed up with CVS Health Workforce
Initiatives in 2019 to open a mock store retail skills lab aimed at providing disadvantaged community members with the tools to gain stable employment. The CVS Health Retail Skills Lab helps train members of Goodwill’s workforce. The program includes job readiness soft-skills training, combined with classroom and field-based clinical instruction to create a pipeline of retail store employees. Those who successfully complete the program will have the option of receiving a certificate from the National Retail Federation Foundation. Upon completion they can then apply for a job with CVS Health.

Goodwill Industries – Canton, OH
Ohio Vocational Rehabilitation and Goodwill Industries customers receive retail sales training at the CVS Health Workforce Initiatives mock store located in the Canton Goodwill facility. Participants learn job skills in customer service, cash register and merchandising. Several individuals have been directly hired by CVS stores.
Goodwill Industries – Columbus, OH
Goodwill Industries customers receive retail sales training at the CVS Health Workforce Initiatives mock store at the Columbus Goodwill location. Participants learn job skills
in customer service, cash register and merchandising. Upon successful completion of training, they are eligible to apply for employment at a CVS pharmacy.
Goodwill Industries – Youngstown, OH
A CVS Health mock store located inside the Youngstown Goodwill Industries headquarters opened in June, 2019. The mock store is part of the Goodwill’s workforce training initiative for retail sales associates. The program, a Workforce Initiatives and Goodwill partnership, includes job readiness and soft skills training combined with classroom and field-based clinical instruction in a CVS store. The training focuses on individuals with barriers
to employment such as disabilities, economic disadvantages, work-related injuries, incarcerations and no history of employment. Upon successful completion of the training, individuals are eligible to apply for employment with CVS Health.
