It took another hour to get everything ready. Tommy would
take Trash’s car to Greenville with Kara staring at him dreamily
the whole way. Ethan begrudgingly booked the hotel room and
promised Kara three paid days off. Trash had collected the
cash from the patrons, three-hundred-eighty-two dollars, prior
to the bet. Finally, with many, many words exchanged, Ethan
surrendered the keys to his beloved Lexus.
As Trash and Steve drove to Smilie’s to pick up Linda, Trash
discussed their potential plans with Steve.
“You have seen the power this thing yields. We cannot let this
fall into the wrong hands. Can you see what was happening?”
Asked Trash.
“Well, I can see that they were testing hairspray for something
sinister.”
“Think about it, Steve. It is October. What happens next
month?”
“What? Thanksgiving?”
“No. What happens on a Tuesday?”
