Both Steve and Trash were filled with feelings of jealousy as
Tommy made a feeble attempt to give Kara a great kiss. He
looked like a man about to be shot in the head, not like a man
about to be kissed by the most beautiful woman in town. It

killed them both inside to pass this opportunity up just to help
Tommy, the ungrateful jerk. Fortunately, she gave him just
enough tongue to touch the object and slumped down on the
stool. Steve and Trash jumped forward, catching her, as
Tommy stepped back and put the object in Trash’s hand
behind his back. When Kara finally got her bearings about her,
the entire establishment became absolutely silent. Steve looked

at Trash, who shook his head. Steve said nothing. Kara sighed
a few times and seemed to whisper something inaudible
through half-closed glazed eyes. After a minute of this, Ethan
finally spoke up.

“Kara, honey, was that the best kiss you have ever had?”
Everyone in the bar was silent to the point of holding their
breath. Kara squirmed in her seat struggling to speak, as if her
