answer was coming from very, very deep inside and took a
while to work its way to the surface. Her movements started as
little squirms, which got bigger and bigger until she rolled her
shoulders around in a circle and said in a very strange and
powerful voice, “FUCK YEAH!” The pub erupted in cheers and
jeers.
She reached out and grabbed Tommy once again, kissing him
long and hard, with as much tongue as she could give him. His
knees bucked and Steve caught him as he was about to hit the
floor. There was uproarious laughter and drinks spilled
everywhere.
“I don’t need to pack what I ain’t going to wear!” she said with
a breathy voice. “Let’s go.” She reaches for Tommy again but
Trash and Steve intervene. The pub erupts in all cheers, even
though the patrons were all losers, they got a show well worth
the money. Every single man and most of the women were
wishing they were in Tommy’s shoes, about to spend three
uninterrupted days with Kara and that fantasy alone was worth
something. Steve and Trash were more jealous than ever, just
as Tommy was more terrified than ever.
As the Drunk Monks say:
Do not go all googly at good fortune or be all pissy at
bad fortune, for it only looks that way to us and what
the hell do we know? Perhaps what looked like horrible
