"Don't we have to get to Washington to find someone who can
destroy that thing?"

"No, Steve. We have the means of destroying it ourselves now.

We don't have to go anywhere or do anything unless we want
to. We are in control." He smiled and patted Steve on the
shoulder.

Steve’s head was spinning. Trash was calm. Linda seemed to
be in an altogether different world. As Trash put their luggage
in the limo, Steve was shocked by the round bulge in one of
the bags. He did not remember this from when the bags were
removed at the motel the previous evening. Trash seemed to

notice his bewilderment, said; “Don’t ask. Don’t worry.” And
smiled benevolently, slapping him on the upper arm.

Mrs. Jenkins proved to be a very interesting woman who had
traveled the world and was full of great stories. They were all
very entertained. She informed them that her home was in
Connecticut and that they were going there. She provided

them some wonderful champagne and followed that up with a
one-thousand-dollar bottle of single malt scotch that was
indescribably delicious. Linda managed to spill some of each
into her purse.

At one point Mrs. Jenkins turned to Steve and asked him if he
had a girlfriend. Steve sighed and shook his head no. Mrs.
Jenkins seemed all excited. She reached into her purse and
