Chapter 19
It was about 10:00 am when Commander Conrad Polk and his
crack team of Secret Service agents screamed bloody murder
and barged into a hotel room at the Greenville Inn near
Moosehead Lake in rural Maine. In over thirty years of police
work he had never encountered anything quite so bizarre as
what they found inside. They burst in upon a very beautiful
and very frustrated woman looking absolutely exquisite in a
frilly pink teddy, being naughty alone on the bed while some
poor slob had locked himself in the bathroom and whimpered.
According to the neighbors, he had locked himself in the
bathroom the previous evening and she had pounded on the
door half the night, screaming at him to come out and finish
what he started.
Even for a seasoned professional like the Commander, it was
difficult to concentrate. He and his men had to refuse, several
times, to finish what the gentleman in the bathroom
purportedly had started. It broke his heart to see such a
beautiful woman look so sad. They had to break the door to
the bathroom down and found a blubbering redheaded man in
a bathrobe curled up in a fetal position in a dry bathtub. It got
stranger still.
