planted to create the illusion that this house grew where it
stood rather than was built there. Not only was Steve shocked
by the scope, majesty and beauty of this home, he was
attempting to wrap his mind around the cost. He couldn't.



They were met at the doorway by an army of servants who all
seemed to know exactly what to do without anyone saying
anything. Trash held on to the luggage himself, but everything
else was done for them. They were taken to an elevator and
shown to the third floor. They walked one hundred and twenty
feet or so and were only halfway down the hall. The butler
leading the party stopped and opened a huge double door.
Steve couldn't decide if it was a ballroom or a meeting room.

The rear wall was devoted entirely to windows. It was like a
giant postcard. Mrs. Jenkins solved the mystery.


"This will be your room, darling." She said to Steve.


It was only then that he realized there was a huge bed that
appeared tiny in the massive room. Steve imagined this was

how royalty lived. Mrs. Jenkins walked him over to the bed and
bid him to sit down. Then to the servants she said, "Put his
clothes in the dressers and find more his size and fill all the
dressers."


A number of them nodded. Some began unpacking his things
and others left in a hurry.
